About the role

*Job Summary*: As a Commissary Prep Cook, you will be an integral part of our kitchen team. Your main tasks will include preparing ingredients according to recipes, maintaining a clean work environment, adhering to food safety standards, and assisting with food preparation for catering and special events. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to handle a fast-paced environment, and flexibility in schedule.

*Key Responsibilities:*

* Prepare ingredients according to specified recipes, on time and quality standards.

* Measure and portion ingredients accurately for baking and cooking.

* Operate kitchen equipment, such as mixers, slicers, and ovens, safely and efficiently.

* Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to sanitation guidelines.

* Adhere strictly to food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all customers.

* Assist with food preparation for catering and special events as needed.

* Perform other duties as assigned by the commissary Manager/supervisor.

*Qualifications:*

* Experience in a professional kitchen setting.

* Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines.

* Ability to read and follow recipes accurately.

* Strong knife skills and attention to detail.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.

* Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.

* Flexibility to work up to 40 hours per week, including weekends and holidays.

* Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour

Flexible language requirement:

* French not required

Ability to commute/relocate:

* Mississauga, ON L4Y 4C5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

* Food preparation: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

* Food Handler Certification (preferred)
