Part-time Meat Wrapper/Packer (Up to 32 hours/week) Meat Facility

*Job Summary*

The Meat Facility Meat Packer is responsible for receiving, processing, packaging and storing meat products.

*Job Duties*

* Receive meat products from suppliers.

* Process meat into burger, ground meat and marinated chicken.

* Package and label meat products into vacuum/sealed bags.

* Load products into the fridge and coolers.

* Arrange for safe transportation of products from Meat Facility to stores.

* Enforce and maintain all food safety requirements.

* Ensure proper handling and cleaning of all meat processing equipment.

* Maximize production flow efficiencies while minimizing downtime.

* Performs closing duties which can vary from compost and trash disposal, to general cleaning and storing of equipment

* Communicates information to the department manager and supervisor, so the department can respond as necessary.

* Adheres to all operational, health & safety, and organic compliance policies and procedures when the above responsibilities are performed.

* Any other job-related tasks as required by the Meat Department Manager.

*Experience/Skills Required:*

* Previous meat room and customer service experience an asset

* Willingness to work with raw, frozen, and process meat products

* Strong work ethic, shows initiative and the motivation to complete work assignments

* Punctuality - arriving to work on time and completing assigned shifts

* Dexterity to lift and maneuver loads of up to 50 lbs.

* Ability to work in closed quarters and perform repetitive tasks in varying environmental conditions.

* Must wear CSA-approved steel toed shoes while on duty.
