POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY:

The Frontline Worker provides professional care and support to

clients at the Mississauga and Brampton Shelter.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES

PURPOSE:

The purpose of the expectation task list is to identify and clarify what management expects from the

Incumbent. Expectations may change year to year and both parties should use the annual performance

Appraisal to determine realistic and equitable goals and outcomes for the upcoming performance year.

WORKING RELATIONSHIP(S):

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor the incumbent is to: The Intake Worker provides assessment and referral service to internal shelter services

EXPECTATIONS & TASK LIST:

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES

· Takes responsibility for routine intake processes and decisions, following standard procedures

and directs clients to appropriate shelter services

· Records all information as per policy

· Liaises with referral sources and other external agencies as needed (for example: welfare, police,

urgent situations, medical facilities, etc.)

· Fosters positive relations with community social services agencies/resources

· Answer incoming inquiries and direct as needed

· Adhere to standards that are consistent with the values & philosophy of The Salvation Army and

Peel Residential Services mission and values

· Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications required:

· Diploma/Degree in Social Science or equivalent education and experience.

· Criminal Police Investigation Check (CPIC)

· Appropriate Immunization Measures

· Current Certification in First Aid/CPR

· Crisis Intervention Training (CPI)

· Suicide Prevention

· Health and Safety

· Customer Service Training

· Armatus Abuse Prevention Training

· Valid G license

Compensation:

The target hiring range for this position is $23.62 to $24.04 with a maximum of $24.45.

Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
